Five pieces from the Austin Anarchist Study Group.
From the introduction:
We think that study as a practice is worth underlining. The standard criticism we encounter is that our studies offer nothing more than intellectual stimulation. Though they have managed to change the way we live and interact, it is true that they are neither action-oriented nor strategic. We think this patient distance from a purely instrumental relation to ideas is worth cultivating. In our patience we understand that studying, meeting, discussing, debating, and so on are their own practices, with their own logic, not subordinate to the logic of strategy or tactics. This book is an attempt to document this perspective.
